About this event

The U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam in conjunction with the Global Agribusiness Team invites you to join the Tanzania Poultry Value Chain Webinar. This event will provide valuable insight into the current landscape and prospects of Tanzania’s poultry industry, offer guidance on establishing local partnerships, and showcase success stories from U.S. poultry companies thriving in the region. While not among the top exporters to the region, the United States remains a key trading partner with the United Republic of Tanzania, contributing approximately USD $6.02 million in food imports in 2024 in Zanzibar. A significant share of these imports consisted of frozen chicken, which continues to play a vital role in meeting local demand.

The webinar will cover:
• Market Insights & Growth Opportunities: Selected U.S. poultry companies will share their experiences expanding operations in Tanzania and highlight emerging market trends, potential investment opportunities, and areas for collaboration.
• Partnership & Investment Pathways: Companies will outline how Tanzanian producers, distributors, and agribusinesses can engage in mutually beneficial partnerships that strengthen the poultry supply chain, improve access to financing, and boost trade.
• Success Stories & Lessons: U.S. companies operating in the region will provide firsthand accounts of overcoming challenges, navigating regulatory frameworks, and achieving growth in Tanzania’s poultry sector.
• Policy & Trade Facilitation Discussions: Experts may offer insights into regulatory alignment, trade policies, and certification standards.
